Allan holds dual UK and New Zealand citizenship
& joined Automotive and Technical Personnel in May 2001 following
a long career
management in the Print & Graphics
industries.
The last few years have seen Allan's knowledge of New Zealand
Immigration Policy expanding rapidly to the point where to satisfy
our clients
in all divisions need for skilled employees the company has expanded
its
sourcing of Candidates to actively recruit offshore. This has been
facilitated by this web site and the launch of this service at the
London New Zealand Opportunities Expo.
While for some considerable time we have been working with candidates from
offshore it is only now that we are starting to seek them out.
Traditionally they have contacted us from the recruitment arm jobsite
www.autojobs.co.nz . This
has been successful but not an ideal way for candidates to start
the immigration process as it identified only present needs in
New Zealand and doesn't offer the support that a migrant family
needs to make the decision confidently to immigrate.
Allan's Print & Graphics industry experience
spans 22 years in New Zealand. Starting in 1980, he commenced an
apprenticeship as a photo-lithographer, during his apprenticeship
Allan distinguished himself each year winning Top Apprentice and
Auckland Star awards during this time. He also completed an Advertising
& Marketing diploma at ATI during the early 80's. After completing
his trade training Allan took on a sales & market development
role dealing primarily with Advertising Agencies and Designers
to
meet their reprographic needs.
During the 80's Allan became a director of a medium size printing
company with interests in a Graphics and Photolitho company, Folding,
print finishing company and publishing several trade journals. This
period expanded Allan's knowledge rapidly in all areas of the graphics
industry from concept to final delivery with genuine hands on responsibility
for all areas from sales, production through to finishing and delivery.
In the early 90's Allan formed a print brokerage ABout Print to
service clients directly with an agency like service utilising
the
skills of various freelance professionals. During this time he
worked on projects that won Axis, Best & Other industry awards
for design and production. In order to service client needs Allan
expanded
his knowledge of electronic design and prepress to the point that
a full electronic workflow was achieved.
In 1995 Allan formed F.A.B (Flyers and Brochures) to create direct
marketing pieces from concept to distribution, primarily within
the automotive industries. The Graphics studio was expanded and
projects were conceived and designed through to film output internally,
with print production, Finishing & Distribution brokered to
outside suppliers.
It is through this association with the Automotive Industry that
Allan became aware of Automotive & Technical Personnel (initially
as a client) and what they were doing with industry
specific
recruitment and the results it was returning for their client partners.
Between 1997 and 2001 numerous discussions took place on how to
best service the Print & Graphics Industry in a manner similar
to Automotive & Technical Personnel's specialist approach.
The time was never quite right for both parties until May 2001 when
Allan became involved with the company initially working on the
company marketing and restructuring to take advantage of other areas
of specialisation and as an automotive recruiter to hone his recruitment,
interviewing and assessment skills under the guidance of the team.
With the move to new premises early in 2002 and the acquisition
of the Executive Net Print & Graphics client & candidate
database, to compliment the purchase of A1 Technical Recruitment
database purchased late 2001 from their liquidator, the time was
now right for the expansion of the business in to other areas
of specialisation. Print & Graphics
Personnel has been formed to service the Print & Graphics Industries.
We aim to become the leading specialist recruitment company in
this
area, simply through placing candidates that are second to none
in the correct positions to take advantage of their skills, experience
and personalities to the maximum advantage of candidates and clients.
